Step back in time to the glamour and sophistication of the 1920s at The Dry Spy Knowle – Solihull's premier speakeasy-style cocktail bar and live music venue. Nestled in the heart of Knowle, our Art Deco haven offers an authentic Gatsby-era experience with exquisite cocktails, live jazz and acoustic performances every Friday and Saturday night, and an atmosphere that transports guests to the golden age of prohibition.

COCKTAIL WAITRESS

Position: Part-Time / Flexible Hours
Location: The Dry Spy Knowle, Solihull
Hours: Thursday–Saturday, 5pm–Midnight
Salary: Competitive hourly rate + tips + 25% staff discount

About the Role

As a Cocktail Waitress at The Dry Spy Knowle, you'll be the face of our venue, delivering exceptional table service in our stunning 1920s Art Deco setting. You'll work alongside our talented mixologists and live musicians to create unforgettable experiences for our guests.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide warm, attentive table service to guests throughout the evening

• Take orders accurately and use our ticket system to collect dispensed cocktails from the bar

• Deliver cocktails, wines, and bar nibbles with flair and attention to detail

• Maintain knowledge of our signature cocktails (including our famous Naughty Lemonade) and multi-buy offers

• Ensure tables are clean, well-presented, and ready for guests

• Maintain venue standards and cleanliness throughout your shift

• Handle payments efficiently using our Square POS system

• Create a welcoming, friendly atmosphere that embodies our 1920s speakeasy vibe

• Work collaboratively as part of a team with bartenders, hosts, and barbacks during busy service

• Assist with private hire events and special occasions

• Be willing to learn about cocktails and our drinks menu

• ensure tables and chairs are immaculate , clean and dry

• mop and spillages

• use wet floor signs and follow heath & safetly training guidelines

• Keeping tables clean , clear , glasses washed , replenished

• keep host station tidy and organised

What We're Looking For:

• Previous experience in hospitality, waitressing, or table service (preferred but not essential)

• Excellent communication skills and a naturally friendly, approachable manner

• Strong team player who thrives working collaboratively in a fast-paced environment

• Strong attention to detail and commitment to exceptional customer service

• Willingness to learn about cocktails and develop your drinks knowledge

• Pride in maintaining high venue standards and cleanliness

• Reliable, punctual, and professional

FRONT OF HOUSE HOST

Must work well in a team & be able to manage floor standards in a busy fast paced bar.

About the Role

As our Front of House Host, you'll be the first point of contact for guests entering The Dry Spy Knowle. You'll set the tone for their evening, managing reservations, welcoming guests with warmth and professionalism, and ensuring smooth operations throughout service.

Key Responsibilities:

• Meet and greet guests outside the venue as they arrive, creating a warm first impression

• Welcome guests at the door and manage entry during peak hours

• Oversee table reservations via Squarespace and Design My Night booking systems

• Seat guests efficiently, managing table turnover and maximizing capacity (up to 60 guests)

• Answer phone calls and respond to Instagram DMs regarding bookings and enquiries

• Coordinate with bartenders and waitresses to ensure seamless service as part of the team

• Manage the flow of guests during live music events (Friday & Saturday, 9–11pm)

• Handle customer queries, special requests, and any concerns with professionalism

• Maintain venue standards and cleanliness at the entrance and throughout front of house areas

• Assist with crowd control and work with door staff during busy periods

• Process payments and manage the Square POS system

• Promote upcoming events, special offers, and private hire opportunities

• Be willing to learn about our cocktail menu to answer guest questions

What We're Looking For:

• Previous experience in hospitality, front of house, or customer service roles (preferred)

• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills

• Confident, professional, and welcoming demeanor

• Excellent team player who works collaboratively with all staff

• Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask under pressure

• Comfortable using booking systems and technology (training provided)

• Willingness to learn about cocktails and our drinks offerings

• Commitment to maintaining high venue standards and cleanliness

• Reliable, punctual, and able to remain calm during busy periods

• Passion for creating memorable guest experiences

• Interest in 1920s culture, cocktails, and live music

• Smart appearance and willingness to embrace our vintage dress code
